Position: Partner & Head of M&A and Corporate Finance
Location: Zurich
Workload: 100% full-time
Objective
The Partner & Head of M&A and Corporate Finance leads the firm’s transaction practice and advises national and international clients on complex corporate, financing and M&A matters. You play a key role in structuring high-quality transactions, building and managing a legal team and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth.
Responsibilities
- Leading and advising on complex corporate restructurings, including reorganisations following mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, integrations and demergers
- Structuring and executing national and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including public takeovers and private sales
- Advising on management buy-outs (MBOs) and management buy-ins (MBIs) considering strategic, tax and financial structures
- Supporting clients in the disposal of assets or subsidiaries, including distress sales and strategic divestitures
- Acting as lead legal advisor on private equity transactions, including buy-side and sell-side deals, minority investments and exits
- Developing and implementing business development strategies to expand the firm’s client base in M&A and corporate finance
- Advising issuers, sponsors and syndicate banks on equity and bond market transactions, including IPOs, secondary offerings and bond issuances
- Maintaining and expanding long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagement
- Developing business development strategies, contributing to thought leadership (e.g. through articles, webinars, events) and representing the firm at industry conferences
- Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and associates, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing
- Ensuring compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets and operational goals
Requirements
Education
- Admission as a lawyer in Switzerland and top qualifications
- Excellent academic qualifications in finance (Master’s degree/PhD)
- Additional qualifications in corporate finance, commercial law
Professional experience
- At least 10 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance or private equity, ideally in a renowned law firm or legal department of a financial institution
Languages
- Confident style, good English and German skills
- Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an advantage
