Head of Department Environment and Energy 80 - 100%
In this role, you take overall responsibility for the Environment and Energy department – personnel, technical and organisational. You actively shape the sustainable development of Männedorf and effectively implement strategic topics. You can expect a versatile key position with great scope for design, high visibility and direct influence on reducing Männedorf’s CO2 emissions.
Your tasks:
- You lead the Environment and Energy department in a goal-oriented manner and further develop your team
- You shape the energy and climate policy future of the municipality (e.g. Energy City label, Energy Fund)
- You coordinate and manage measures to achieve climate targets and the climate strategy and support the implementation of measures
- You initiate, lead and accompany projects in the areas of environment, energy and biodiversity
- You advise the municipal council, administration and population on environmental and energy issues
- You visualise successes in efficiency improvements, reduction of CO2 emissions, etc. in easily readable dashboards, accompanied by periodic status and success reports
- You ensure public relations in coordination with communications and politics
- You represent the municipality in regional and cantonal expert committees and networks
- You actively contribute your expertise to projects and commissions
- You work closely with internal departments and take on an important hub function
Your profile:
- Education in the field of environment, energy or construction (FH, HF, university or equivalent)
- Several years of experience in project management and ideally initial leadership experience
- Knowledge of environmental, energy and construction legislation is an advantage
- Confident use of Office 365, ideally also GIS applications
- High degree of independence, sense of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking
- Understanding of political decision-making processes and administrative procedures
- Convincing communication skills as well as negotiation skills and a solution- and implementation-oriented working style
- Fluent communication in German – appropriate for all levels
