Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the Canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion. A position for a sociocultural animator on a fixed-term contract, from 17 August 2026 to 11 January 2027, is open at the Ouches - Concorde Community Centre.
Job Description
• Take responsibility for animation, socio-educational work and free reception of neighbourhood residents: children and pre-teens; in accordance with the association's project;
• Participate in the development of associative life and neighbourhood animation, through a space for sharing, meetings, exchanges and activities open to the public, promoting respect, tolerance and solidarity among residents of different cultures;
• Actively participate in the development of the centre's activity programme and the follow-up of the associative project in consultation with the team and the management committee;
• Assume management tasks related to activities, including supervising instructors.
Qualifications
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university qualification;
• Proven experience in sociocultural animation with various populations: children, adolescents, young adults and general public;
• Ability and willingness to cooperate and work as part of a team with animators, instructors, administrative and technical staff, as well as the management committee;
• Strong communication skills by email and orally;
• Good organisational and planning skills, particular ability to manage priorities and emergencies;
• Recognised skills in project conceptualisation and management; • Ability to use common computer software;
• Initiative, autonomy, innovation and creativity, ability to take responsibility; ability and willingness to network with local partners.
Additional Information
• For team balance reasons, priority will be given to female candidates;
• Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 15;
• Flexibility for varied hours (activities on Wednesday afternoons, Friday evenings, and - depending on projects - Saturdays and during school holidays);
• Driving licence preferred;
• Start date expected from 17 August 2026;
