About the job
PhD Program - Gender studies
CategoryPositionPresentation
The CUSO doctoral program "Gender Studies" is a place for training and scientific exchanges for doctoral candidates working from a gender perspective. Building on the continuity of the Léman doctoral school (2002-2008) and the Romand doctoral school in Gender Studies (2008-2011), the new doctoral program is part of a dynamic of consolidating achievements and an expansion spirit (institutional and disciplinary). This doctoral program will allow us to achieve the following objectives:a. The CUSO doctoral program offers the opportunity to experiment with the contributions of interdisciplinarity, which is the foundation of Gender Studies.
b. The proposed modules provide a true place for exchanges between doctoral candidates and colleagues further along in their careers and allow for deepening, both theoretical and methodological, of knowledge in Gender Studies.
c. The CUSO doctoral program also facilitates networking among young researchers, not only regionally but also nationally and internationally.
d. The doctoral program sessions allow doctoral candidates to practice scientific communications and improve their research valorization practices, notably through individual or collective publications.
The CUSO doctoral program "Gender Studies" brings together five institutions in Western Switzerland: the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the University of Fribourg, the University of Geneva (management), the University of Lausanne, and the University of Neuchâtel. It is also affiliated with the Network of Swiss Doctoral Schools in Gender Studies.
Registrations for the program are open to anyone enrolled in one of the five member institutions and who approaches their doctoral research from a total or partial gender perspective. Interested doctoral candidates are invited to register on myCUSO. The registration period is open all year round. Registrations do not need to be renewed each year.
If you are already enrolled in another CUSO doctoral program, you can also be affiliated with the CUSO Doctoral Program in Gender Studies. To do so, you must contact the program coordinator directly ( gender(at)cuso(dot)ch ).
