Job Profile
The Medical Educator is a field-based position directed at healthcare professionals (HCPs) at Abbott Diabetes Care in Switzerland. The main task is to provide medical-scientific expertise in diabetology and to conduct high-quality medical training on sensor-based glucose monitoring technologies (FreeStyle Libre™) in Switzerland.
The central goal of the position is to support diabetes treatment teams in realising the full benefits of CGM systems for their patient populations. Furthermore, the role includes credible communication of scientific information and professional dialogue with healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions in the assigned territory.
The position requires close and compliant collaboration with commercial colleagues while maintaining complete medical independence and the highest scientific integrity.
Your Responsibilities
- Providing medical-scientific expertise in diabetology to support the FreeStyle Libre™ products in Switzerland; cross-functional collaboration to develop, coordinate, and implement strategies and programmes at the customer level in the respective territory
- Creating and delivering scientific and medical presentations for healthcare professionals – individually or in groups, in person, online, or recorded
- Conducting field visits to HCPs and evidence-based exchange on relevant medical-scientific topics in the responsible territory
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting internal training and continuing education programmes for employees on medical-scientific topics
- Performing internal medical-scientific tasks (e.g. approvals, fair market value assessments, B2B CRM activities) as well as administrative support
- Building and maintaining a network of professional societies, key opinion leaders (KOLs), physicians, and other relevant professionals in the territory
- Collaborating with ADC Medical Affairs DACH, EMEAP, and Global Medical Affairs
- Organising medical-scientific programmes for local congresses including delivering specialist lectures
- Supporting the selection and implementation of special elements and events of the FreeStyle Academy™
Your Qualifications
- Recognised medical professional (e.g. diabetes educator, nutritionist, or physician) with extensive clinical experience in the care and treatment of people with diabetes
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical technology industry
- Established network in the field of diabetology in Switzerland
- Proven proactive, solution-oriented ("can-do") working style
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- High digital competence and technical understanding
- Team-oriented working style combined with creativity and initiative
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work effectively in matrix organisations
- Fluent German, English, and French skills (depending on the area of deployment), Italian is an advantage
- High willingness to travel (approx. 80%, field position)
