About the job

The Office for Culture of the City of Winterthur promotes a diverse cultural life and is responsible, among other things, for the municipal art collection as well as art and construction projects in public spaces and municipal buildings. As part of an organisational and professional development, the Art and Construction department is being structurally revised and further developed. For this purpose, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for an experienced, communicative personality with strategic understanding, organisational strength, and experience in implementing complex art and construction projects. Are you keen to make a sustainable contribution to the cultural city of Winterthur and to apply your skills in this area?

Your Tasks

You will further develop existing foundations, processes, instruments, workflows, and responsibilities in the Art and Construction area and develop practical standards for planning, procedures, implementation, and maintenance

You will prepare decision-making bases, guidelines, templates, and processes for administration and politics and contribute to the strategic development of the department

You will lead selected art and construction projects of the City of Winterthur through all project phases in collaboration with artists, users, specialist planners, architects, municipal departments, and external partners and accompany ongoing procedures

You will support strategic issues at the interface of the art collection and municipal art promotion as well as concerns regarding existing artworks in public spaces

You will contribute to further developing Art and Construction as an important instrument for promoting visual arts and building culture in Winterthur

Your Profile

Degree in cultural management, art history, architecture, or similar fields

Several years of experience in managing and implementing art and construction projects or comparable interdisciplinary cultural and/or construction projects

Experience in organisational development, process design, project management, and working in complex organisational structures

Confidence in dealing with various stakeholders from art, administration, politics, and construction planning

Experience in administration, public institutions, or complex matrix organisations
