Initial Situation

When the first trucks set off in the morning, the planning should already be in place.

For a manageable team, we are looking for a personality for the dispatching of import, export and domestic transports. You coordinate the routes, keep an eye on appointments and capacities, and at the same time are the direct contact person for the drivers. This requires someone who enjoys organising, making decisions and enforcing them.

Tasks

• dispatching and coordinating national and international truck transports
• planning pickups, deliveries and routes in import, export and domestic transport
• assigning, coordinating and leading the drivers in day-to-day business
• communicating with customers, drivers, freight carriers and other partners
• monitoring ongoing transports and reacting to delays or cancellations
• setting priorities and finding solutions for last-minute changes
• recording and processing transport orders and the associated documents

Requirements

• experience in truck dispatching, freight forwarding or transport industry
• good knowledge of national and international transport business
• assertive, yet fair and friendly personality
• independent and organised way of working
• enjoy taking responsibility and making decisions
• keeping a cool head even when several issues arise simultaneously

IT Skills

MS Office – good knowledge

Languages

German: spoken and written very good
English: spoken and written good to very good
any additional language is an advantage

This is not just about sending trucks from A to B. You work closely with the drivers, know the processes and ensure that the planning also works in practice. Sometimes this requires tact, sometimes a clear instruction. You should be able to do both. If you enjoy dispatching, taking responsibility and keeping an overview even when five things are happening at once, this could be a good fit.
