About the job
The Catholic Church of the City of Lucerne comprises a pastoral area with nine parishes, city-wide specialist departments, and an office. Around 300 employees contribute their skills to a future-oriented church that aims to be close to people with innovative content and needs-based services. The central parish of St. Maria zu Franziskanern, with around 3,200 Catholics, is located in the old town of Lucerne. The medieval Franciscan church and the "Franziskanergärtli" are historic landmarks of the city. The parish offers a diverse liturgical program used by people from the entire agglomeration. It places a special focus on church music. An engaged team of around 22 employees works in the parish in the areas of pastoral care, neighborhood work, church music, secretariat, and infrastructure. In addition, around 170 volunteers are active in various associations, groups, and projects. We are looking for a Parish Pastor (40% position) to start immediately or by arrangement. What are your tasks?- You carefully design contemporary and people-oriented liturgies in collaboration with our highly qualified church musicians (1-2 times a month services with sermons on weekends/holidays as well as celebrations in free form).
- You participate in the funeral on-call service, sensitively conduct funerals, and accompany mourners.
- You attentively engage with people, sensitively perform pastoral care tasks, and accompany
- Pastoral professional experience in parish ministry, ecumenical and interreligious openness, as well as credible and life-related spirituality
- Independent working style and ability to work in a team
- Creativity, curiosity, and willingness to try new things
- A varied pastoral activity with a high degree of independence
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with a cooperative, creative, and collegial
