Supervisor / Caregiver 80 - 100%The Department of Justice and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The main department of Zurich remand prisons (UGZ) - one of eight main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for remand and security detention. One of these facilities is Winterthur Prison (GFW), which manages its tasks with a staff of 49 employees and provides space for 92 inmates and 9 provisional detainees.
Winterthur Prison is looking for a team-oriented, open-minded and committed individual to join the enforcement team immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- You supervise, occupy and accompany detainees within the daily structures and act as a contact person for concerns
- You ensure an orderly daily routine, ensure compliance with and enforcement of safety and service regulations, and are able to recognise and manage critical situations
- You take on administrative tasks such as writing reports, leadership record entries and documenting events
- Performing regular shift, weekend, night and special duties is natural for you and compatible with your other commitments
- You significantly shape a new culture and engage in quality assurance and further development of the GFW with regard to resource- and development-oriented remand detention
This is what you bring
- You must have a federal vocational certificate, (specialist) matriculation, specialised secondary school certificate or an equivalent qualification
- You can express yourself very well in written and spoken German and have good knowledge of at least one other language
- You are proficient in using the MS Office suite
- You are both mentally and physically resilient
- You have an impeccable reputation (i.e. no entries in the criminal record or debt enforcement register) and are at least 25 years old
