The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by the centres and off-site teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.

Open competition for an off-site social work function (TSHM) Meyrin Transit, for a position of sociocultural animator at 80%.

Job Description

• Ensure socioprofessional integration work within the Transit system with young people who have dropped out of school and/or are seeking a qualifying training through various means such as jobs and educational projects;
• Participate in the follow-ups, support and evaluations of young people in connection with the network;
• Support the acquisition of professional skills using existing measures and tools;
• Participate in the implementation of Transit actions such as street work, sport, premises under supported management, events, etc.
• Based on observed social issues, and within a team of 7 people, participate in the development of collective work and sociocultural animation in close collaboration with social workers in the region, existing social structures and municipal authorities;
• Assume management and organisational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and the municipality.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university qualification;
• Proven experience in socioprofessional integration (jobs and educational projects), initial training in a technical field is an asset;
• Experience in off-site social action (street work, individual and group support, premises under supported management, sport for all, etc.);
• Knowledge of the characteristics of the young population, strong interest and demonstrated ability to work with adolescents / young adults;
• Good knowledge and practice in project methodology and situation diagnosis; good ability to interpret complex situations;
• Good knowledge of the Geneva school network, particularly training courses, socioprofessional integration systems and social assistance;
• Aptitude for networking: collaboration with social actors of the municipality and canton and local institutions; good knowledge of the Geneva social network;
• Ability to work autonomously while actively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, its manager and the regional coordinator, in coherence and respect with other social workers in the region and the Institution’s requests;
• Initiative, creativity, sense of responsibility, flexibility, dynamism;
• Good experience in organisation and planning, managing priorities and emergencies;
• Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor and respect for deadlines.
