The State of Fribourg Pension Fund is seeking an accounting manager to ensure the operational accounting management of the Fund and guarantee the quality, reliability and compliance of financial operations. In collaboration with the Finance & Controlling Manager, they will contribute to the preparation of financial statements, monitoring of accounting activities and continuous process improvement. Playing a central role in the Fund’s accounting management, they will ensure compliance with current standards and actively participate in modernisation and digitalisation projects.

Your responsibilities
- Autonomous management and responsibility for the Fund’s accounting
- Coordination and management of the annual closing
- Preparation of financial statements according to Swiss GAAP RPC 26
- Organisation and active participation in the audit process
- Management of accounting interface tools
- Cash management in collaboration with the F&C manager
- Establish VAT reconciliation
- Supervise an accounting assistant
- Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and internal control system
- Work closely with technical, real estate and investment teams
- Manage a DMS and its supplier invoice validation workflow
- Participate in development and improvement projects of accounting management tools
Your profile
- Advanced professional training (Federal Diploma of Specialist in Finance and Accounting, Bachelor in Economics, University of Applied Sciences) or equivalent accounting qualification
- At least 5 years’ expertise in accounting, including proven experience in a responsible role
- Confirmed accounting experience desired in occupational pension accounting
- Proactive, autonomous person with a strong team spirit
- Strong interest in social insurance, finance and real estate
- Excellent command of French, with good knowledge of German, or vice versa
Your skills
- Ability to co-develop and manage accounting and financial activities in close collaboration with the Finance & Controlling Manager
- Good knowledge of Swiss accounting standards for occupational pensions (Swiss GAAP RPC 26), tax obligations and internal control
- Mastery of regulatory compliance issues and active contribution to the internal control system
- Rigor ensuring reliability, accuracy and consistency of accounting and financial data
- Ability to prioritise, decide and structure accounting activities in a demanding environment
- Analytical mindset enabling resolution of complex issues and quick understanding of existing processes
- Interest in digitalisation and automation of administrative and accounting processes
- Expertise in using accounting tools and common office applications, especially Excel (Expert)
