We are looking for a committed and empathetic person from March 2026 as

Civilian Service Member in the Red Cross Driving Service

As a civilian service member, you take on an important role in the Red Cross driving service and make a direct contribution to the mobility, independence, and safety of people who rely on support in everyday life. Through your assignments, you accompany and care for clients during medically indicated trips and support the team in driving service coordination as well as administrative tasks.

With your empathetic and reliable nature, you ensure that our clients are cared for safely, respectfully, and according to their individual needs. Your assignments include activities amounting to about 50% in the areas of driving service & accompaniment as well as driving service coordination.

Driving Service & Accompaniment

You carry out medically indicated trips – to the doctor, hospital, therapy, or important everyday activities.
You pick up clients at home, assist them on the way to the car, and offer help as needed (e.g., taking a walker, carrying bags/luggage).
You help with getting in and out and accompany clients throughout the entire trip as well as at the destination – from the way to the reception to the correct hospital department.
You also support with small care tasks if needed, such as fetching drinks, accompanying to the toilet, or orientation within the building.
Afterwards, you safely bring the clients back home and accompany them back into their apartment.

Driving Service Coordination & Administration

You support our clients by phone – with patience, empathy, and an open ear for personal concerns, worries, or stories.
You receive driving orders, record them in the system, and check capacities.
You schedule trips and coordinate the assignments of volunteer drivers for the Red Cross trips.
You assist with the registration, recording, and maintenance of new passengers and volunteers as well as with general administrative tasks.

This convinces us

Driver's license category B and safe driving experience
Basic IT knowledge and enjoyment of administrative tasks
Empathy, openness, and patience in dealing with elderly, sick, or impaired people
High social competence, sense of responsibility, and resilience
Having your own car is a great advantage
Willingness to commit for at least 6 months
