To strengthen our team in the Food sector, we are looking for a motivated and committed Junior Buyer Food (m/f/d) at the Basel Headquarters location from 01.10.2026, fixed-term until 31.03.2027.
The workload is 100% from 01.10.2026 - 31.01.2027 and 50% from 01.02.2027 - 31.03.2027
Your responsibilities
- You support the Buyer in developing and implementing the assortment strategy in line with the company’s financial goals.
- You prepare competitive analyses, market research reports and summaries of consumer insights.
- You assist the Buyer in building customer-oriented assortments that meet financial and strategic requirements.
- You create assortment overviews, SKU lists and analyses of the number of variants.
- You support seasonal assortment reviews and internal coordination meetings.
- You assist in managing supplier relationships for defined suppliers or subcategories.
- You help prepare supplier meetings and negotiations (price comparisons, margin analyses, benchmarks).
Your profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Merchandising or a related field.
- You have 2 years of professional experience in purchasing, category management, planning or retail (trainee programmes are also considered).
- You have product knowledge and an eye for detail.
- You are customer- and market-oriented.
- You possess good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- You speak fluent German and French.
