The city of Illnau-Effretikon - located between Winterthur and Zurich - offers attractive conditions for around 18,000 inhabitants with its rural and urban areas, hamlets, centres, and the historic village of Kyburg.
Our team in the Building Department is responsible for the areas of building permits, urban planning, real estate, energy, and sport.
As Head of the Building Permits Department, you are responsible for the building permit process up to and including final acceptance. You lead a team of specialists from the building permits, building control, fire police, and civil protection control bodies. The team members have many years of experience in their fields of activity.
For the newly created position, we are looking for an immediately available or mutually agreed upon strong leadership personality with solid professional expertise as
- You lead your team of four employees and represent the department in the management of the Building Department.
- You manage building permit procedures, ensure efficient and legally compliant execution, and advise applicants.
- You advise property owners and architects on building law matters.
- You coordinate building appeal procedures and ensure a smooth process.
- You accompany procedures in the area of monument preservation.
- You review building applications and draft building permits, ensuring high quality decisions.
- You actively contribute your expertise in the meetings of the building authority.
- You further develop our permitting practice and ensure clear processes.
- Have professional experience and good knowledge of planning and building law in the canton of Zurich and possess further training in construction or planning (e.g. CAS Building Law).
- Have leadership skills, ideally complemented by further training.
- Have gained experience in project management.
- Enjoy process optimisation, digitalisation, and Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Preferably already have knowledge of CMI (construction) and eBuilding Application.
- Have very good oral and written expression in German.
