About the job
About us
Neuro Recovery Group is an international healthcare group dedicated to advancing neurorehabilitation. At its centre are the cereneo clinics in Vitznau and Hertenstein on Lake Lucerne, together with a prevention and longevity business and international activities and partnerships. We combine highly individualised, research-driven clinical care with an international private patient base.
The role at glance
We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong finance professional to lead our Swiss accounting function during a fixed-term period. You will own the books and financial statements of four Swiss legal entities, lead the three accountants who deliver that work with you, and act as finance counterpart to the clinics and the group functions. The role reports directly to the Group CFO.
The Senior Manager Group Finance position is offered on an 80–100% workload and is a fixed-term role from October 2026 to April 2028 (indicative). An extension or conversion to a permanent position will be assessed at the end of FY27. The role is based on site in Hertenstein and Vitznau, with limited remote working, and reports directly to the Group CFO.
Key responsibilities
Accounting, tax and financial statements
- Own the accounting for four Swiss legal entities, from day to day bookkeeping quality through to month end, year end and the statutory financial statements under the Swiss Code of Obligations.
- Ensure a reliable closing calendar and lead the coordination of the external audits as main contact for auditors.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, including intragroup service charges.
- Prepare the corporate income and capital tax returns and the related provisions together with our tax advisor, and prepare the VAT returns in-house.
- Build up a group consolidation, targeted for FY27, together with the CFO and Controlling.
- Oversee the payment process and bank reconciliations and monitor the cash position.
Healthcare cost accounting and regulatory reporting
- Own the REKOLE compliant cost centre and cost unit accounting, including its further development.
- Own the ITAR_K submission and the related cost and tariff documentation towards health insurers and cantonal authorities.
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting, in particular the Federal Statistical Office hospital and medical statistics.
- Provide the cost and revenue basis for tariff work under ST Reha for inpatient rehabilitation and TARDOC and the outpatient flat rates for ambulatory services.
Revenue cycle oversight
- Supervise debtor management: patient and insurer billing, cost guarantees, dunning and escalation, collection and bad debt provisioning.
- Pay particular attention to international and self-paying private patients, including prepayments, deposits, currency exposure and cross-border collection.
- Steer the interface between Accounting, Sales and patient administration.
Business partnering
- Act as finance counterpart to clinic management and cost centre owners.
- Support Controlling and the Group CFO with a sound accounting and cost accounting basis for planning, reporting and decision making.
- Work with HR, Operations and Sales on finance-related topics, from contracts and pricing questions to process changes.
- Contribute to group projects and business cases where accounting, tax or regulatory expertise is needed.
Team and systems
- Lead, develop and support three accountants, and ensure continuity and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Work with our accounting systems, currently Nexus Hospis and Abacus, and drive harmonisation, automation and better data quality.
- Represent finance in IT and system implementation projects, from requirements through to go-live.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, approval workflows and segregation of duties.
Your profile
- A sound accounting qualification, for example a Swiss Fachausweis or diploma in Finanz- und Rechnungswesen, Experte Rechnungslegung und Controlling, CPA, ACCA, Steuerberater or a relevant degree.
- Several years of hands-on responsibility for Swiss statutory accounts under the Code of Obligations, including year-end, audit and VAT.
- Experience in the Swiss healthcare or clinic sector is strongly desired, in particular REKOLE, ITAR_K, insurer billing and the statutory health statistics, but not a must.
- Experience leading a small accounting team, and the willingness to remain hands-on yourself.
- Advanced Excel; experience with Abacus and with a clinic information or ERP system is an advantage.
- Structured, pragmatic and discreet, and comfortable in a clinical environment.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
What we offer
- A broad mandate with direct access to the CFO and short decision paths.
- A work environment that values innovation, autonomy and excellence.
- Support for personal training and development, with room to set your own priorities.
- Discount at our affiliated daycare centre and family-friendly working hours.
- Various employee discounts, 50 percent employer contribution to Lunch-Check and discounted parking.
- A collegial atmosphere in a small international team, in one of the most attractive locations in Switzerland.
