As part of a forward-looking succession plan, we are looking for a committed, strong leadership personality from spring 2027 as
YOUR TASKS IN THIS ROLE ARE:
- Overall responsibility for the strategic, personnel, financial and professional management of the department with around 40 employees
- Participation in the development and implementation of the strategic goals of the city administration
- Management of the budget and ensuring efficient and effective use of resources
- Initiation, leadership and support of projects in the social context
- Preparation of decision-making bases and proposals for authorities
- Advice and support of the department head in strategic and professional matters
- Active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as well as representation of the department internally and externally
YOUR PROFILE FITS EXCELLENTLY IF YOU:
- have completed a university or university of applied sciences degree in a relevant field (e.g. social sciences, public management) or an equivalent qualification.
- have several years of leadership experience, ideally in public administration or a socially oriented environment.
- possess pronounced leadership and social skills and can motivate and further develop employees.
- are strong in conception, organisation and implementation of projects.
- think and act in a businesslike manner.
- have good knowledge of political processes and an understanding of internal administrative procedures.
- communicate confidently, appropriately for the audience and convincingly.
- have high resilience, initiative and a pronounced service orientation.
