With around 1400 employees, Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed institution for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and approximately 300 employees, it contributes according to legal mandate to the protection of the public and at the same time creates the conditions for the resocialisation of the detained persons.
From 1 January 2027 or by agreement, we are looking for reinforcement for our assembly workshop. Together with your experienced professional colleagues, you ensure a structured production routine and accompany, supervise and promote the detained persons at their workplaces.
Your tasks
- You ensure order and safety in the workshop and help shape a structured working day
- You actively participate in the planning, setup, commissioning and operation of new production lines
- You accompany, instruct and motivate the detained persons in their daily work
- You plan and coordinate individual employment assignments taking into account the skills and resources of the detained persons
- Administrative tasks related to production orders also belong to your area of activity
- You record observations on the development and behaviour of the detained persons in reports and assessments
- You are actively involved as a member of the company fire brigade
Your profile
- You have completed a basic craft or technical training with a federal certificate of competence (EFZ)
- You bring professional experience in a craft or technical environment; experience with production facilities is a plus
- Ideally, you have completed further training as a Correctional Services Specialist as well as additional training in work pedagogy
- You are interested in working with people and can well imagine combining your expertise with work pedagogical tasks
- Good German language skills in spoken and written form as well as confident MS Office skills complete your profile; additional languages are a plus
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation (no entries in criminal and debt registers)
