About the job
What you will achieve with us
- You take on a central senior medical role in acute geriatrics and rehabilitation and further develop your ward medically and organisationally
- You lead your interprofessional team with clinical excellence, empathy and clarity, creating an environment that promotes safety, a learning culture and mutual respect for all.
- You treat our highly complex, often multimorbid patients according to our holistic geriatric approach (mobility, cognition, delirium, nutrition, function, quality of life) and support them with evidence-based care through acute and rehabilitation phases.
- You conduct geriatric ward rounds, interprofessional case discussions, as well as family and goal clarification meetings – medically sound, ethically reflective and humanely attentive – lead clinics and assessments, and represent geriatrics on a consultative basis within the hospital.
- You further develop treatment pathways, quality and innovation projects (e.g. delirium management, early rehabilitation, interprofessional models).
- You are a key trainer for assistant doctors: you supervise, coach and specifically promote them in clinical decision-making, geriatric thinking and professional attitude.
- You participate in the senior medical on-call system (on-call duty, without night shifts) and bear responsibility for continuously high-quality care.
You inspire us…
- with your specialist title in General Internal Medicine (or close to obtaining it) with proven interest or focus in geriatrics; a geriatric specialisation or corresponding further training is very welcome.
- with your enthusiasm for acute and rehabilitation geriatrics and your interest in complex clinical questions beyond single diagnoses.
- because you enjoy working interprofessionally and understand leadership not hierarchically but as clinically present, attentive and reliable responsibility for patients, team and organisation.
- because you take pleasure in teaching, structured further training and promoting young doctors
- with your good German language skills in spoken and written form and your appreciative, professional, proactive and reflective personality, which shapes change and wishes to develop both professionally and personally
