To support the Shipping division and the subsidiary Shiptec AG, we are looking by arrangement for a skilled craftsman personality in an exciting dual role as Steam Engineer, 80 - 100%, permanent (m/f/d) (Sanitary-Heating Installer, Polymechanic specialising in Maintenance, Shipbuilder).

The Shipping Company of Lake Lucerne (SGV) AG is a company of the SGV Group and employs together with its subsidiaries Tavolago AG (Gastronomy) and Shiptec AG (Ship Technology) 450 employees. As a private transport company, SGV is the leading shipping company in Switzerland.

You work in a versatile role, i.e. during the winter period you are active in your trained profession as Sanitary-Heating Installer, Polymechanic specialising in Maintenance or Shipbuilder at Shiptec AG and during the summer period you are deployed as an engineer on the steamships of SGV AG.

• You are responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair on ships, stations and the shipyard infrastructure
• Furthermore, you take on an important interface function between departments, internal and external customers.
• After thorough introduction and further training in internal courses, your tasks and responsibilities include the independent operation and supervision of the steam boiler, the firing system and the steam engine. Furthermore, you are responsible for the operation of the ship technology (fuel, hydraulic systems and electrical systems).
• To operate the over 100-year-old steamships smoothly, close cooperation with the entire ship crew is essential.

• Completed basic training as a Sanitary-Heating Installer, Polymechanic specialising in Maintenance or Shipbuilder
• Professional experience in the trained profession
• Willingness to work irregular shifts, including weekends
• Willingness to occasionally work on site for third-party customers/area of operation whole of Switzerland
• Independent, reliable working method
• Good physical condition, pronounced team skills
• Age between 22 - 40
• Good German skills in spoken and written form
• Driving licence category B
