Join us in our commitment to the vision of a solidaristic society, as Care Specialist Night and Weekend MNA 40% Fixed-Term in Zurich Uster (m/f/d) Since March 2024, Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres at various locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the canton. As care staff for the night and weekend service, you are responsible for the personal and age-appropriate care of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers during the night, at weekends and on public holidays at the MNA centre on Aathalstrasse in Zurich-Uster. Your tasks
- Care and support of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (MNA) during night, weekend and public holiday shifts
- Ensuring night rest, compliance with house rules and safety regulations as well as regular patrols
- Active and reliable presence in communal areas and contact person for the young people
- Guidance and support of the young people in everyday life, especially regarding nutrition, hygiene, order and cleanliness
- Care of ill young people as well as appropriate action in conflict, crisis and emergency situations and informing the responsible authorities
- Promotion of independence, social integration and respectful coexistence as well as participation in leisure activities
- Documentation of special incidents, reliable information transfer and handover of duties
- Collaboration with the social pedagogical teams and other specialist agencies as well as participation in team meetings and training sessions
- Completed training, experience in the migration field and/or youth work advantageous
- Enjoyment in caring for young people and interest in their social integration
- Good German language skills, spoken and written; additional language skills advantageous
- Quick comprehension as well as willingness and ability to quickly familiarise yourself with internal digital work and documentation systems
- High resilience, conflict management skills as well as a calm, respectful and appreciative attitude
- Independent, reliable and responsible working style with initiative and good work organisation
- Cultural openness and ability to work in a team
- Ability to work actively, attentively and independently during night shifts
- Time flexibility for changing night shifts on all weekdays as well as early and late shifts on weekends and public holidays according to the duty roster
- Impeccable reputation
Start date: immediately or by arrangementThe position is limited to 3 months.
