Laboratory Technician for the Angiology Department
The angiology research laboratory is looking for a laboratory technician specialized in animal experimentation at an activity rate between 80% - 100% for a duration of one year starting February 1, 2026, or as agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Angiology Department provides highly specialized medical services in the field of angiology. It ensures the care of patients suffering from diseases of the veins, arteries, lymphatics, and microcirculation.
The angiology research laboratory is in full development. It is involved in various research projects aimed at identifying specific treatments to modulate the development of aneurysms and studying vascular differences between women and men to adapt treatments accordingly.

Mission
- You will conduct animal research: strain monitoring, injections, dissections
- You will perform various laboratory tasks: qRT-PCR, western blot, histology, immunohistology, ELISA tests. Experience in flow cytometry would be an asset
- You will participate in supervising and training interns and students
- You will keep a detailed laboratory notebook
- You will work in strict compliance with hygiene and safety rules.
Profile
Required:
- You have at least a CFC as a biology laboratory technician or an equivalent qualification
- You have completed module 1 / LTK1 of animal experimentation
- You have skills in molecular biology, cell culture, western blot, ELISA, or immunohistology
- You demonstrate good organizational skills, are rigorous, and work precisely and autonomously
- You are also able to work effectively in a team
Desired:
- You have experience in handling and injecting mice
- You master histology, molecular biology, and cell biology techniques
- You have experience in microsurgery (an asset).
