• The ORCT ensures health and safety at work, combats employment-related abuses, and exercises the powers assigned to the cantonal authority in matters of unemployment insurance, subject to the competencies of the SEMP management.

As a member of the ORCT management team, you support the office in all legal matters related to the entity’s diverse activities, particularly undeclared work, support measures and minimum wage, control of legal prostitution, combating social benefit abuses, health and safety at work, as well as, occasionally, in the field of unemployment insurance.

In this capacity, you provide direct legal support to the head of office as well as to the field teams. You prepare and monitor complex files, reports and correspondence, while providing your analysis and expertise on the various issues encountered.

Furthermore, you monitor federal and cantonal legislative developments to assess their impacts and propose relevant adaptations, while actively participating in consultation procedures. You also analyse work processes from a legal perspective and contribute, through your recommendations, to the continuous improvement of practices and tools. You also collaborate with lawyers from other service entities.

Thanks to your analytical mind, your ability to propose solutions, your enthusiasm and your sense of public service, you actively participate in the implementation and evolution of labour relations and working conditions in the canton.

Holding a university master’s degree in law, you have several years of experience in a legal advisory or support role. You possess solid knowledge of legal provisions related to employment, notably in labour law, legislation related to undeclared work, free movement of persons, foreign nationals law, unemployment insurance and social benefits. You also have good knowledge of criminal law and procedure, as well as labour law.

Endowed with excellent writing and organisational skills, a good analytical and synthetic mind, you work seriously and efficiently, respecting deadlines. Naturally positive and solution-oriented, you show initiative, proactivity and interpersonal ease, while being deeply committed to public service values. Attached to legal rigour, you also know how to demonstrate creativity and innovation.

Knowledge of German is an asset.
