Your responsibilities
As part of our molecular oncology activities, we are looking for a molecular biologist specialised in molecular biology, with a strong focus on molecular pathology and high-throughput sequencing. The position is based at the genetics laboratory in Lausanne.
Your mission
- Analyse and interpret molecular pathology results, mainly from NGS panels.
- Write diagnostic reports in collaboration with the scientific and medical team.
- Work closely with the laboratory to ensure the follow-up of analyses, the quality of results and the consistency between technical data and biological interpretation.
- Maintain regular communication with our pathology departments in Switzerland and abroad, particularly for case follow-up, analytical questions and result interpretation.
- Contribute to the discussion of complex cases and the continuous improvement of analytical workflows.
- Participate in the implementation, optimisation and validation of new molecular analyses.
- Contribute to maintaining the laboratory quality system, in compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
Required skills
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences or equivalent training required.
- PhD strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in molecular biology applied to diagnostics.
- Expertise in molecular pathology, ideally in oncology.
- Good knowledge of NGS technologies and molecular variant interpretation.
- Experience in analysing molecular panels, variant review and writing diagnostic reports.
- Good communication skills and ability to work interactively with technical, scientific, medical teams and pathology departments.
- Rigor, autonomy, critical thinking and sense of responsibility.
- Experience in an accredited laboratory or diagnostic environment is an advantage.
- French essential; good knowledge of scientific English required. German is an asset.
