Maintenance Technician for the Biomedical Maintenance Workshop
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety (CIT-S) of the CHUV is looking to complete its biomedical maintenance workshop team with an electronics / automation technician at a rate of 80% to 100%, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 September 2026, or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Directorate of Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety of the CHUV (CIT-S) has as its main activities operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical support and advice.
The biomedical maintenance sector manages more than 25,000 state-of-the-art medical devices. The academic environment of our institution promotes continuous training in these ever-evolving fields. You will thus participate in training within the academic structures offered by suppliers. You will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, which is at the heart of the hospital's strategic activities (technical platforms, operating theatres, intensive care, etc.)
Mission
- You ensure the operation and corrective and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment on the Epalinges site and some external sites
- You assist and advise laboratory services in the proper use of the devices
- You analyse and propose continuous improvements
- You carry out administrative tasks related to your role
- In collaboration with the care services, you plan and organise the preventive maintenance schedules for which you are responsible
- You may be required to participate in the on-call rota.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as an electronics technician or automation technician or another equivalent qualification
- You have solid experience in industrial or hospital operation and maintenance (at least 5 years)
- You have knowledge of network architecture (TCP/IP)
- You are team-oriented with a personal willingness for self-training
- You demonstrate a good command of English (technical terms)
- You master the main office and professional IT tools
- You hold a category B driving licence.
