Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
Serving the families of the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva, has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ is made up of 670 employees.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for a qualified educator for its L'Etape emergency reception centre for children and adolescents aged 5 to 18 years.
Job Description
Care, support and guidance for beneficiaries living in the centre, in close collaboration with the educational team.
Close collaboration with placement services, the health network and the family to ensure comprehensive and appropriate follow-up.
Support for parenting.
Irregular working hours depending on the needs of the young people and the organisation of the centre.
Activity rate: 80%
Contract start: 1 August 2026
Contract type: Permanent contract
Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
Training:
Bachelor in social work – University of Applied Sciences of Social Work (HETS), or
Qualified social educator – Higher School (ES), or
University Bachelor – FAPSE degree supplemented by one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE, or
Bachelor in nursing.
Foreign diplomas must have SEFRI recognition or an official equivalence.
Experience:
Significant experience with children and adolescents in difficulty is essential, as well as prior experience in emergency reception centres. Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to diverse populations are expected.
Professional skills:
Ability to ensure autonomy and responsibility in supporting young people and their families
Team spirit, initiative and ability to collaborate with various internal and external partners
Strong knowledge of the Geneva social network
Excellent writing skills in French.
Nationality / work permit:
Swiss nationality or valid work permit
