Role:
On behalf of the client, we are looking for an experienced professional as Project Manager Hydraulic Engineering & Natural Hazards (80-100%) for the planning and realisation of demanding hydraulic engineering and environmental projects. You will handle projects in the areas of flood protection, revitalisation, torrent control, and natural hazards from preliminary study to construction implementation. You will take on the technical and organisational leadership of interdisciplinary project teams and be responsible for costs, deadlines, quality, and technical solutions. The position combines classic civil engineering and hydraulic engineering with sustainable watercourse development and protection against flood and debris flow events.
Responsibilities:
Independent planning and management of hydraulic engineering and environmental projects of varying size and complexity
Planning and realisation of flood protection measures on flowing waters
Development of revitalisation and renaturation concepts for streams and rivers
Planning of protective measures against debris flows, sediment transport, and torrent hazards
Handling projects from preliminary study through construction and execution planning to realisation
Development and assessment of hydraulic and hydraulic engineering concepts
Integration of hydrological and hydraulic modelling into project development
Leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary project teams, specialist planners, and experts
Responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, and risk management
Preparation and coordination of tender and submission documents
Collaboration and technical coordination with clients, municipalities, cantonal specialist offices, and authorities
Support during execution, site supervision, acceptance, and project completion of hydraulic engineering projects
Qualifications:
Completed studies as Civil Engineer FH or ETH
Several years of professional experience in planning and management of hydraulic engineering projects
Solid knowledge in flood protection, watercourse engineering, and revitalisation
Experience with natural hazards, torrents, debris flows, or hydraulic modelling is an advantage
Knowledge of Swiss SIA standards as well as hydraulic engineering and environmental planning processes
Experience in leading interdisciplinary project teams as well as in cost and schedule management
Very good German language skills spoken and written
