Lawyer 80 - 100%The Secondary School and Vocational Education Office is the competence and service center for vocational education, high schools, higher vocational education, and continuing education in the canton of Zurich. We support and accompany secondary schools, vocational schools, providers of preparatory vocational years, and training companies.
The legal department is located in the MBA staff and ensures the legal expertise and advisory competence within the office. We are looking for a lawyer (80-100%) to start immediately or by arrangement. The position is limited until 31.01.2028.
Your area of responsibility
In this versatile and responsible role, you are the central legal contact person for the office management as well as the departments of the MBA. You provide competent advice in exciting legal areas such as secondary school, vocational education, procurement, IT, and data protection law, thus making an important contribution to the further development of the education system. In addition, you actively participate in legislative projects, draft orders and statements in appeal procedures, and prepare decision-making bases for the government council, the education council, and the director of education. Reviewing and drafting contracts also belongs to your varied range of tasks.
Your profile
You are a committed and experienced lawyer (MLaw or lic. iur.) with proven knowledge in general administrative law. Ideally, you also bring know-how in IT and data protection law and are interested in legal issues related to digitalization in the education sector. Thanks to your quick comprehension, you quickly understand even complex matters and recognize the crucial legal core issues. You work in a structured, independent, and highly careful manner – and keep an overview even in demanding situations. As a solution-oriented personality, you convince with linguistic precision, confident appearance, and pronounced negotiation skills. You communicate clearly, appropriately for the audience, and effectively contribute your expertise.
