The Civil Engineering and Safety Department, with over 50 employees, ensures a powerful infrastructure and high quality of life in Küsnacht. Its tasks include the operation, maintenance and preservation of value of around 100 km of municipal roads, the wastewater infrastructure and the engineering structures. With the areas of road maintenance, green spaces and cemeteries, wastewater treatment plant as well as the police and emergency services, the department makes a central contribution to the safety and attractiveness of the municipality.

To complement our team, we are looking for a
Head of Department Roads 80 - 100%
Your tasks
- Professional and personnel management of the Roads department with 2 - 3 project managers
- Independent coordination of maintenance, management and implementation of diverse road and infrastructure projects
- Planning and management of complete renewal projects with third parties (utilities on Lake Zurich, Swisscom etc.), cantonal specialist offices and neighbouring municipalities
- Further development of the Roads department
- Acting as the central contact person for partner organisations, residents and members of authorities
- Responsibility for meeting deadlines, quality and cost targets
- Deputising for the Head of Wastewater department
Your profile
- Degree as a civil engineer ETH/FH
- Several years of professional experience with sound expertise in project management and construction management, ideally in civil and road construction
- Leadership experience is an advantage
- Enjoyment in shaping public spaces
- Interest and flair for digitalisation topics
- Strong decision-making skills, team and motivational ability
- Structured, solution-oriented and efficient working style
- Strong communication skills, negotiation skills and assertiveness as well as a confident manner towards internal and external stakeholders
- High degree of personal responsibility and initiative
