About the job
Are you eager to bring your mediation talent as well as your enthusiasm for people, design, art and culture into a lively urban cultural operation?The Cultural Mediation Office of the Department of Culture develops and coordinates mediation offers with and for various cultural institutions of the city of Winterthur. This enables diverse people to participate culturally and thousands of children and young people gain access to culture, design and social topics. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed, creative and inspiring personality as a cultural mediator with a focus on the Gewerbemuseum Winterthur from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement. In this role, you are part of the Cultural Mediation Office team and work closely with the Gewerbemuseum Winterthur. The Gewerbemuseum Winterthur presents innovative exhibitions at the intersections of design, art and society and opens up diverse access to the world of materials. As a lively meeting place, it promotes exchange with different stakeholders.
Your tasks
- Develop and conduct mediation formats for school classes and young adults
- Lead workshops and offers related to exhibitions and the material laboratory of the Gewerbemuseum
- Co-design and establish projects in the areas of participation, inclusion and outreach
- Conceive and implement new and creative mediation formats for different target groups
- Develop and produce mediation materials both analogue and digital
Your profile
- Degree in cultural mediation, art history, design, pedagogy or similar fields
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in design / visual arts
- Experience in mediation work with children and young adults
- Interest in participatory and inclusive cultural mediation
- Very good German and high digital affinity, English skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends
