Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
Serving the families of the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages more than 47 structures across the Canton of Geneva and has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, offering educational outpatient services at home. The FOJ is composed of 500 employees.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for three qualified educators for its home Les Écureuils Doret , which provides medium and long-term care for children aged 4 to 15 years.
Job Description
Your role will notably include:
- Support and accompaniment with the educational team for beneficiaries living in the home.
- Support for parenting.
- Close collaboration with placement services and families.
- Openness to the developmental attachment pedagogy model.
Job Specifics
- Irregular working hours (including nights and weekends).
Start date: as soon as possible
Work rate: 80 - 100%
Contract type: Permanent contract

Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva
Qualifications
- Bachelor in social work (HETS) or Diploma of social educator (ES) or University Bachelor (related field to social work) with one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE
- Foreign diplomas: requirement of official recognition by SEFRI (or an equivalent recognised body)
- Holder of the HETS trainer practitioner diploma or willing to undertake the training (CAS/PF)
- Significant prior experience working with preadolescents and adolescents
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to diverse populations
- Autonomy, team spirit and initiative
- Good organisational skills
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social network
- Good writing skills in French
- Knowledge of and strong motivation for nautical activities and maintenance of premises and equipment as educational tools.
Additional Information
Possession of a driving licence (B)
Boat licence (sailing and/or motor) is a plus
Swiss nationality or valid work permit required.
