The Families, Children and Adolescents sector is responsible for matters related to families and adolescents as well as the foster care sector. In the areas of child care complementary to the family and institutions for children and adolescents, it is responsible for planning services, authorisation, financing, quality assurance and monitoring of services.
The specialised foster families and adoption service is part of the Families, Children and Adolescents sector and is responsible for assessing suitability, supervision and counselling of foster parents. In the adoption sector, the specialised service's tasks include the expert assessment of adoption applications, as well as supervision and support of adoptive families. Another task is collaboration in supervisory activities in the area of child care complementary to the family and in institutions for children and adolescents.

Tasks
- Responsible conduct of monitoring visits, as well as support and counselling within ongoing foster care relationships
- Assessment of the suitability of foster parents
- Point of contact for authorities, interested parties and external bodies on foster care matters
- Quality assurance and continuous development of the processes of the specialised foster families and adoption service
- Collaboration in the supervision of child care services complementary to the family
- Other varied, interesting and responsible activities
What we expect from you
- Diploma in social pedagogy, social work or a related discipline (psychology or educational sciences)
- Experience in family support or child protection or willingness to undertake relevant professional training
- Solution-oriented and interdisciplinary thinking and acting, interdisciplinary understanding of tasks and ability to work in a team
- Independent, goal-oriented and responsible working method as well as reliability and competence
- Strong communication, conceptual and writing skills
- Knowledge of the canton's official languages is desirable
- Good IT skills (especially MS Word)
- Category B driving licence
