We have successfully expanded our presence in Europe over the last 10 years with locations in the DACH region in Basel (Switzerland), Böblingen and Penzberg (Germany) and are now looking for a Process Engineer Media Supply Clean/Black Utilities (m/f/d) for our office in Basel, starting immediately in a full-time position.
Job Description
As a Process Engineer Media Supply (m/f/d), you are responsible for the planning and implementation of process supply concepts for pure media (pure water, pure steam, gases), chemical supply as well as wastewater and exhaust gases for production plants and buildings of our clients from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Through regular communication with our clients, you ensure that all requirements are met and that budget and schedule are adhered to.
Your tasks:
- Planning, concept development and execution of projects in the field of media supply for systems such as pure water, pure steam, gases, chemical supply and waste (liquid and gaseous)
- You coordinate collaboration in interdisciplinary teams with internal and external engineers, clients, site managers, partners and suppliers
- You independently structure, prioritise and delegate complex tasks within the team
- You participate in interdisciplinary group and specialist audits with the aim of ensuring the quality of our projects
- You conduct quality checks of project documents, e.g. design calculations and documentation
- You design internal training materials, confidently present technical topics and act as a mentor for junior team members
- You carry out technical bid comparisons, prepare technical documents and are responsible for the scope of delivery and commissioning
- Due to your experience and technical skills, you also take on additional tasks such as:
- FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
- GMP risk analyses
- HAZOP/HCCP/etc.
- Supplier management
- Review of 3D models and coordination / collision resolution
- Creation of functional flow descriptions and review of functional specifications

Qualifications
- University degree in process engineering, biotechnology or chemical engineering or a similar field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in biotechnology and/or the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in an engineering company
- General knowledge of cGMP and especially GMP-regulated pure media processes and plant systems is required
- Experience with process utility systems (WFI, pure water, pure gases, process wastewater/gas, etc.)
- Social competence and ability to work in a team
- Good knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Visio and Excel)
- Ideally, you also have experience with cleaning and sterilisation systems such as CIP, autoclaves, washing systems or supply media such as steam and condensate and cooling water
- Experience with 3D viewer software such as Navisworks is an advantage
- Social competence and ability to work in a team
- Fluent English skills (C1+) and good knowledge of German (B2+)
