About the job
Polybloc AG, a leading Swiss company in the field of energy recovery, is looking for a technically skilled and solution-oriented individual for our mechanical design department.
For over 40 years, we have been developing innovative heat exchanger systems in Winterthur, making an important contribution to energy efficiency and climate protection.
The focus of the role is on the design of sheet metal parts and assemblies using Solid Edge. At the same time, there is the opportunity to actively help shape the future engineering system landscape: this includes the establishment of a PDM system, the development of the connection to Odoo, as well as the further development and automation of our CAD and data processes.
Please note that profiles from recruitment agencies will not be considered.
Tasks
- Design and further development of sheet metal parts, sheet metal assemblies and mechanical components with Solid Edge
- Creation and maintenance of 3D models, manufacturing drawings and parts lists
- Manufacturing-oriented design taking into account laser cutting, bending, welding and assembly
- Establishment and further development of a structured PDM environment for Solid Edge
- Definition of standards for CAD data, items, revisions, approvals and parts lists
- Assistance in developing a seamless connection between Solid Edge, PDM and Odoo
- Automation of recurring engineering processes, e.g. data export, parts list creation, item creation and document storage
- Participation in the standardisation and digitalisation of our design and development processes
- Close collaboration with production, planning, purchasing and development
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training as a designer EFZ, ideally specialising in mechanical, electrical and metal industry, or a comparable technical education
- Professional experience in mechanical design, sheet metal design and manufacturing-oriented design of sheet metal parts
- Sound knowledge and practical experience with Solid Edge
- Confident handling of technical drawings, tolerances, parts lists and technical product data
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, bending and welding
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems as well as ERP systems
- Knowledge of Python or a comparable programming language is an advantage
- Interest in CAD automation, digitalisation and linking different systems
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
- Good German skills; English skills are an advantage
Benefits
- High degree of creative freedom in building our future CAD/PDM landscape
- Opportunity to actively combine design, digitalisation and automation
- Independent projects with direct influence on our engineering processes
- Short decision-making paths and direct collaboration with engineering, production and management
- A dynamic, innovation-driven environment in a stable Swiss SME
- Work on sustainable products in the field of energy efficiency and energy recovery
- Flexible working hours
- 5 weeks holiday per year and flexitime
