• The PONE serves the population and the Authorities. Its general mission is to ensure public safety, maintain order, and enforce laws throughout the cantonal territory.

PONE is seeking police trainee candidates for its police school starting in January 2027 and January 2028 respectively. Successful candidates will undergo two years of paid training and obtain the federal police officer certificate. They will then join our police force with the rank of gendarme or inspector.

You must be at least 18 years old, hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) or an equivalent qualification, be Swiss or hold a C residence permit, be in good physical condition, and possess a driving licence for cars. You must have no police or judicial record and be interested in a career in policing.

The selection competitions will begin on Saturday 15 August 2026.
