Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva. It has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers educational outreach services at home. The FOJ currently employs 670 staff dedicated to serving young people and their families.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is seeking a qualified educator for its Villa Rigaud home, a medium- and long-term residential facility accommodating adolescents aged 12 to 18.
Job Description
- Motivation to work with adolescents within the framework of a defined institutional project, as part of an educational team of 7 people
- Ability to position oneself with minors presenting difficulties in emotional regulation and other particularities in psycho-affective development
- Support for parenting
- Close collaboration with placement services and families.
Job Specifics
- Irregular working hours (including nights and weekends).
Start date: as soon as possible
Activity rate: 85%
Contract type: Permanent
Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva.

Qualifications
- Bachelor in social work (HETS), Diploma of social educator ES or University Bachelor in a related field (in the latter case, one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE is required)
- Foreign diplomas: formal recognition by SEFRI required (final decision)
- CAS as trainer practitioner, an asset
- Previous experience in supporting children and/or adolescents, an asset
- Excellent knowledge of child and adolescent development
- Strong motivation to support adolescents and their families in complex situations
- Ability to adapt to diverse audiences and constantly evolving environments
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility, team spirit and ability to take initiative
- Excellent knowledge of the Geneva socio-educational network and its main actors
- Good writing skills in French.
Additional Information
Must be Swiss nationality or hold a valid work permit.
Must have a driving licence (B).
