About the job
Do you want to personally accompany elderly people and pass on your knowledge to the next generation? At sawia, you combine working as a Health Specialist with training apprentices. In our family-style care homes with 8–13 residents each, the people and their daily lives are the focus.
Your tasks in care
You care for and support our residents individually and help them to organise their daily lives as independently as possible. You take on nursing and medical-technical tasks within your competencies, including preparing medication, injections, and simple wound care. For more complex wound situations, you work with qualified nursing professionals. You help shape the primary nursing in tandem, maintain contact with relatives, and participate in care planning and documentation in LOBOS. After your induction, you take on daily responsibility. The responsible qualified nurse is available for professional support. You also accompany people in their final phase of life and work closely with the nursing staff.
Your tasks in vocational training
You accompany and support Health Specialist and AGS apprentices in collaboration with the SPICURA training centre. You plan training days, supervise practical work, and support learning documentation. You assess learning progress and provide comprehensible, appreciative feedback. Office and training times are scheduled for these tasks.
What you bring
A completed training as a Health Specialist EFZ or an equivalent qualification recognised in Switzerland. Knowledge in geriatrics. Experience in long-term care, dealing with dementia, and supporting apprentices is an advantage. Enjoyment in imparting knowledge and taking responsibility for the development of apprentices. We will discuss your existing qualifications in vocational training during the application process. Very good oral and written German skills as well as Italian skills at least at level B1. Reliability, initiative, responsibility, and enjoyment of working in small teams.
More than a workplace
At SAWIA, you can specifically contribute your expertise in care and vocational training and make a difference. You can expect a varied role with personal responsibility and close exchange with our care teams. With your commitment, you accompany our residents in daily life, provide guidance to apprentices, and make an important contribution to the quality of our care.
Why SAWIA

In this role, you bring your experience into care and actively shape the training of our Health Specialist and AGS apprentices. You work closely with the care teams, qualified nursing professionals, and the SPICURA training centre. What you exemplify and pass on strengthens the apprentices and supports reliable, individual care in daily life.
What awaits you at sawia
Personal relationships with our residents and a varied role between care and training. A structured induction by your team leader and experienced staff as well as professional support by qualified nursing professionals. Scheduled office and training times for supporting apprentices and collaborating with SPICURA. A family-like working environment where you can take responsibility and contribute your ideas.
