Your responsibilities
- Independently perform quality control analyses and interpret the results obtained.
- Carry out analyses using gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (HPLC), as well as other physico-chemical analyses as required by the laboratory.
- Monitor analytical methods related to existing processes and contribute to their optimisation.

- Document results, laboratory logs and test reports in a structured, precise and up-to-date manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve methods, procedures and laboratory practices.
- Strictly apply HSEQ, quality and safety requirements, and maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.
- Share your knowledge and, depending on the organisation, support apprentices or interns.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory technician role, with autonomous practice of analyses.
- Good command of chromatographic techniques, especially HPLC and GC.
- Experience in the safe and effective use of analytical equipment.
- Ability to interpret results, solve common problems and organise work independently.
- Good writing skills to produce quality documentation and technical reports.
- Team spirit, clear communication and ability to work with people of various ages and profiles.
Education and skills
- Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a chemical laboratory technician or equivalent training.
- Knowledge of hygiene, safety, environmental and quality rules applicable in a laboratory.
- Proficiency with computer systems and tools used in a laboratory.
- Very good command of French; technical English, spoken and written, is an asset.
- Knowledge in spectroscopy and/or elemental analysis is an advantage.
Additional Information
- Position based at the Monthey site, in a modern laboratory environment equipped with a variety of recent analytical instruments.
- Activity mainly carried out on site, close to analyses, equipment and production.
- Participation in an on-call system organised and planned in advance, representing about 6 to 7 weeks per year.
- During on-call periods, availability to intervene on site within about one hour is required. Close collaboration with production, other laboratories and Process Technology teams.
- Opportunity to develop varied analytical expertise, contribute to method improvement and eventually progress to a Senior Lab Technician role.
