THE ADVANTAGES OF THE JOB
Hello, I am Sabrina, I am part of the Innovation teams serving the Group's employees as a Scrum Master and I am also a well-being Mentor for overwhelmed moms.
My job consists, within the team I belong to which functions as an incubator, of offering three service packages. The first is to determine the potential of an idea, meaning we use the idea of an initiative bearer to create a product vision. The second step is to develop this product vision, and the third step is to hand over this MVP, this product, this first designed product, to a much larger team for industrialization.
For all this, I draw inspiration from existing practices such as agility, the Scrum Guide but also Lean UX which consists of creating a product before seeking feedback. And since we are in innovation, we also use a lot of Design Thinking.
My experience within Société Générale also helps me a lot, the network, because as we innovate, we create things that do not exist and it is always interesting to be able to find a contact, maybe find someone who has done similar things to get inspired and continue to monitor all around the topics we have to deal with.
What I like most about my job is that I simply love it. It is a job I chose and built in my image. It is also a job that makes sense to me, simply because it also responds to my personal commitments, that is to consume better, consume differently and consume responsibly.
The best part is also being able to work in a stable team, a team that knows each other well, meaning we know how to achieve our goals but we also know how to have fun together. So working in joy and good humor is possible, and being efficient and productive is also possible.
A good Scrum Master for me is a person who knows how to unite a team around a common goal. For that, you have to be attentive to the members who make up the team. You also have to know how to take height and perspective, and also know the tools and practices used inside out, and integrate them to be able to transmit them. It is also a person who knows how to take risks and who knows how to trust.
So to a candidate who wishes to join Société Générale, I would say that the Group is large, that the topics are numerous, diverse and varied, that there is also a digital transformation underway. So we use new technologies and new practices to give a fresh boost, precisely, to the IT system.
Within the Group, being a mom is not a hindrance either. It is even rather well regarded in the sense that it has no impact on my professional development. In fact, during the first lockdown, it was the Group that offered me childcare and I was able to accept without guilt, knowing that it would have no impact.
And if the adventure was just beginning?
