Profile

The anaesthesia service of the Regional Hospital of Lugano is the only one in Ticino recognised by the FMH as a level A2 (3 years) training centre for obtaining the specialist title. The service staff manage over 6,000 patients annually for a total of 12,000 hours of anaesthesia.

We offer all types of anaesthesia necessary for the range of interventions performed at the Regional Hospital of Lugano, such as: general surgery, visceral surgery, neurosurgery, orthopaedics and traumatology, vascular surgery, bariatrics, hepatobiliary surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, urology, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery, hand surgery, gastroenterology and interventional neuroradiology.

Essential requirements:

• degree/diploma in medicine and surgery and specialisation in Anaesthesia or equivalent title (for Italy specialisation in Anaesthesia and Resuscitation) with registration in MedReg before starting work. For doctors with foreign qualifications: recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO is mandatory
• proven knowledge of the Italian language (required level at least B2) with registration in MedReg before starting work, knowledge of other national languages and English is desirable
• work experience in Anaesthesia departments
• autonomy in managing critical patients in the operating theatre
• strong availability and inclination to teamwork
• constructive and proactive attitude
• proficiency in IT tools.
