The Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences (FFHS) offers part-time Bachelor, Master and continuing education programmes using the blended learning method. For our approximately 3100 students, we employ 180 staff members as well as over 550 (part-time) lecturers. To strengthen the IT services, we are looking for a at our Brig location starting immediately or by arrangement

Cloud Engineer

Your tasks include

• Building highly available services
• Developing policies for the introduction of cloud services, e.g. Docker and Kubernetes
• Designing and further developing the cloud architecture as well as cloud governance
• Supporting the IT services in implementing CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery)
• Developing concepts for the transformation of on-premises services to cloud services
• Integrating cloud services into the FFHS IT infrastructure
• Participating in cloud, automation and infrastructure projects

Your profile

• Communicative, proactive and engaging personality with a good dose of composure and humour
• Successfully completed university degree (BSc) in computer science or business informatics
• Experience in cloud engineering or willingness to further educate yourself in this area
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Linux systems, network technologies as well as basic concepts of virtualisation, containers and hybrid IT infrastructures
• Willingness to participate in support and assist lecturers
• Very good knowledge of German
