Job description
The position is part of the Institutional and Decision Data Office, attached to the General Secretariat (Rectorate). The post holder will have as main tasks, under the supervision of the Chief Data Officer, to participate in the production and development of institutional statistics and indicators for decision-making purposes. In this context, the statistician will be responsible for the operational management of current files, updating indicators and statistics, and disseminating statistical information in various formats. Part of the activity will also be dedicated to data control within the framework of various data deliveries to the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The post holder's duties include the following activities:
1. Development of indicators, dashboards and estimates
2. Advising the Rectorate on statistical analyses
3. Updating, maintenance, control and dissemination of statistical data
4. Processing data access requests (internal and external)
Title and required skills
Basic education and professional experience required:
- University-level education, master’s degree in social/economic sciences including statistics
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of statistics
- Experience in developing dashboards, indicators and other decision-making tools
Specific knowledge useful for the position:
- Mastery of business intelligence tools (Cognos), statistics (SPSS, PowerPivot, etc.), office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and communication (InDesign, Concrete5)
- Knowledge of the University or academic world, administration and the Swiss higher education sector
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of Geneva and Swiss political issues is an asset
- Proactivity, synthesis skills, stress resistance, interpersonal skills, autonomy
