The inter-cantonal authority for the supervision of gambling Gespa is responsible for monitoring the Swiss market for lotteries, sports betting and skill games. To complete our team in Bern, we wish to recruit for 1 October 2026 or a date to be agreed

A Legal Officer M/F (80 – 100 %).

Your tasks

You will undertake various legal and interdisciplinary tasks within the framework of state supervision of gambling. You will primarily process and handle licence applications from large-scale game operators, supervise them and their games, both on file and on site, conduct administrative procedures and prepare draft decisions. Your tasks also include contact with game operators, exchanges and collaboration with Swiss and foreign authorities, communication of specific legal information orally and in writing, as well as drafting reports, minutes or legal notes. You will also deal with issues relating to social protection, anti-money laundering, transparency, and general market supervision. You will benefit from thorough introductory training in the various areas of activity and support from experienced colleagues.

Your profile

Graduated MLaw with French as your mother tongue, you already have some professional experience (a lawyer’s certificate or experience in administrative law would be an advantage) and you wish to work in a dynamic and specialised legal field. You are interested in questions of state regulation and ideally also have a particular interest in games and their mechanisms. The legal profession is your passion but you also enjoy working interdisciplinarily. You are a native French speaker and express yourself fluently in spoken German. In a work environment where tasks are varied and changing, you distinguish yourself by your flexibility, integrity, team spirit and autonomy. A sense of essentials and writing and communication skills are indispensable.
