Freight Forwarding Specialist Sea Freight Key Accounts

Initial Situation

You know your customers. You know their shipments. And if something goes wrong, you know who to call.
For a manageable team, we are looking for a freight forwarding agent with experience in sea freight. You will personally look after selected key accounts and take care of their shipments – not just one step, but the entire process.

Tasks

• independent handling of sea freight import and export shipments (LCL/FCL)
• preparing B/Ls, customs documents and transport papers
• organising pre- and on-carriage by truck
• coordinating with shipping companies, terminals and international branches
• monitoring transit times, deadlines and container movements
• calculating and preparing quotations
• maintaining customer and order data in the system
• resolving discrepancies, complaints and special cases

Requirements

• completed training in freight forwarding logistics, ideally with further training as a freight forwarding specialist
• 3–4 years of professional experience in sea freight handling (import & export)
• solid knowledge of customs and transport regulations
• structured, responsible and solution-oriented working style
• customer-oriented, team-capable and communicative personality

You do not have 150 customers here, whom you only know by a customer number. You look after a manageable customer base, know the contacts and understand how their business works. If a container is delayed, a booking needs to be changed or the customer needs a quick solution, you take care of it. In short: less forwarding, more doing yourself.
