Your new role
As a facility manager, you take overall responsibility for the operation of the buildings of the primary school and daycare in the St. Leonhard-Tschudiwies district. You shape your area of responsibility with a high degree of independence and have a wide scope for action within the framework of the service mandate and the defined performance standards. For this, we are looking for a committed individual who takes responsibility, makes decisions, and motivates their team.
You are responsible for the entire building service of your facility. This includes cleaning, building maintenance, management of building technology, as well as ensuring safety and operation. In addition, you coordinate the procurement of consumables and structural maintenance. You also take on the role of safety officer (SiBe) for buildings.
In doing so, you lead a team of five employees both personnel-wise and administratively. Furthermore, you are responsible for the cost centre, including budget planning, adherence to budget guidelines, justification of deviations, and the application for supplementary credits.
As the central contact person for your facility, you promote open and goal-oriented communication. You represent your facility, in agreement, towards schools, users, and other internal and external stakeholders.
You also work closely with the central teams of the Infrastructure Education and Leisure (IBF) department and use their expertise and services purposefully to fulfil your tasks.
This position is for you if you
- have several years of professional and leadership experience and/or a completed vocational training, ideally as a specialist in operational maintenance EFZ with a focus on building services, as well as the federal specialist certificate as a caretaker.
- possess a strong customer and service orientation and place high value on quality.
- are an organisationally strong, structured, and administratively skilled individual who takes responsibility, makes independent decisions, and actively uses their scope of action.
- have pronounced methodological, social, and self-competencies, are communicative, empathetic, and enthusiastic, and appreciate dealing with different stakeholders.
- are open to change, enjoy exploring new paths, and act solution-oriented even in situations with not yet fully clarified framework conditions.
- have very good German language skills in spoken and written form, are proficient in common Microsoft Office applications as well as Teams, and hold a category B driving licence.

The Infrastructure Education and Leisure (IBF) department is a dynamic, lean organisation with a flat hierarchy and a high degree of team autonomy. We meet each other at eye level across all functions. Around 180 employees work at IBF. The 18 facility teams are responsible for the operation of the facilities (school, daycare, sport). The facility teams are supported by 5 centrally organised specialist and support teams which accompany and assist in the areas of personnel, IT, procurement, spatial planning, leadership, organisation, and administration.
