Our client is an attractive and future-oriented municipality in the canton of Baselland. For the real estate department, we are looking for an experienced, independent and communicative personality.

Head of Real Estate – Portfolio, Maintenance & Development (80–100%) 

Your tasks:

You are responsible for the further development and sustainable maintenance of the municipality-owned real estate portfolio in administrative and financial assets.

You work closely with the head of the construction department as well as with other mainly internal and external parties. You combine strategic issues with concrete building maintenance and ensure that tasks, projects and interfaces are well coordinated.

What you can achieve:

• You manage and develop the municipality's real estate portfolio based on the real estate strategy and the real estate action plan.
• You ensure the long-term, economical and sustainable maintenance of the municipality-owned buildings.
• You coordinate the interfaces between portfolio management, building maintenance, construction management and operational maintenance.
• You accompany conversion, renovation and maintenance projects from the owner’s perspective and keep an eye on costs, usage and long-term development.
• You create clear foundations for decisions and prepare complex matters in an understandable and target-group appropriate manner.
• You advise internal departments on real estate matters and reconcile different needs and interests.
• You work closely with other departments, specialist offices and external partners and ensure binding agreements and clear responsibilities.
• You lead one employee in the real estate department.

Integrative leadership personality – great understanding of real estate, construction processes and building maintenance – engaging – connecting – excellent written German!

What you bring, how you convince:

You have a solid background in construction or real estate and have already taken on leadership responsibility for real estate, buildings or construction processes.

Ideally, you bring the following:

• training in architecture, civil engineering, construction management or a comparable professional qualification;
• several years of experience in real estate management, portfolio management, client representation or a comparable function;
• a good understanding of construction, renovation and maintenance processes;
• experience in dealing with various internal and external stakeholders;
• good analytical and organisational skills;
• a clear, precise and target-group appropriate written expression in German;
• interest in the procedures and decision-making paths of a municipality and in a politically influenced environment.

Further training in real estate management, portfolio management, business administration or construction process management is an advantage.

What is personally important:

For this role, the ability to coordinate, communicate and create commitments is more important than leading a large team.

You work independently, in a structured and solution-oriented manner. You listen, can absorb different viewpoints and at the same time represent your professional position clearly and comprehensibly.
