The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position of sociocultural animator at 80% is open at the Meyrin Vaudagne Leisure Center.
Job Description
• Take responsibility for socio-educational and sociocultural work, animation, and reception, mainly with a child population: Start and responsibility of a new street animation project in the heart of the neighborhoods of the city of Meyrin.
• Occasionally and periodically participate in activities of other sectors: adolescents, general public, Ethnopoly.
• Show interest in the follow-up of people in professional training (various internships, HETS, ASE, etc.);
• Participate in the development of associative life and neighborhood animation through a space for sharing, meetings, and activities open to the population, promoting respect and tolerance;
• Ensure follow-up of the institutional project;
• Actively participate in the development of the activity program of the concerned sector, especially weekly reception activities and during school holidays;
• Assume management tasks related to activities and supervision of a team of monitors.
Qualifications
• Experience in animation related to the concerned population;
• Ability and willingness to work in a team and network: coordinator, ASC, ASE, monitors, administrative and technical staff, management committee, volunteers, regional coordinator, Meyrin municipality, other associations, social actors and stakeholders, etc.;
• Ability to share workloads while demonstrating autonomy, initiative, and responsibility;
• Recognized skills in project conceptualization and management, creative and dynamic spirit;
• Sense of organization and planning, while managing new situations, priorities, and emergencies;
• Good knowledge of the Geneva social system and the functioning of FASe, openness to collaboration within the framework of regionalization;
• Ability to use common computer software, rigor, and writing skills.
• Driver's license, D1 license is an asset.
