Your working environment
The University Geriatric Medicine FELIX PLATTER is a centrally located clinic in Basel with 300 beds. The clinic includes the departments of Acute Geriatrics, Neurology & Rehabilitation, as well as Dementia Diseases. Clinic, teaching and research are closely intertwined with us. We live interprofessional patient care and stand for meaningful work, strong team spirit and high professional competence.
For the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation, we are looking for a senior physician for neurology (80-100%) due to the increasing demand for neurological expertise.
You can expect an exciting working environment in the specialist areas of acute neurology and neurorehabilitation with a total of approx. 65 beds and staffing that allows sufficient time for patients, teaching and your own focus areas. We offer a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options (including EEG, ENMG, neurosonology, FEES, CT including CT angiography, gait analysis using GAITRite, lumbar puncture, neuropsychological assessments) and research activities at a university level. There is active interaction with acute geriatrics (including delirium unit and monitoring ward) and old age psychiatry (including memory clinic) in the house. Interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration with flat hierarchies in a respectful working atmosphere plays a central role with us. Furthermore, there is close cooperation with the University Hospital Basel, which, not least through the development of a hospital-wide stroke treatment pathway, ensures optimal treatment of our patients at the highest level.

Your duties
Senior physician duties on the neurological and neurorehabilitation ward
Teaching of assistant physicians and junior assistants
Participation in neurological consultation service/diagnostics/clinics - depending on qualification/focus
Interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration with other medical and non-medical specialists
Participation in on-call duties
Active involvement in internal and external training events

Your profile
Specialist in neurology or close to obtaining the specialist title
Commitment, willingness to work and a strong sense of responsibility
High social competence and enjoyment in dealing with our patients and their relatives
Enjoyment of interprofessional and interdisciplinary work
Proficiency in German at least at level C2
