Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer with a legal background to support our team in ensuring the security, compliance, and reliability of our payment systems. This hybrid role combines rigorous software testing with a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks for financial services.
Responsibilities
Technical Requirements:
- Develop and execute manual and automated tests to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of Wallee's payment systems.
- Design test cases that simulate edge cases such as blocked transactions, sanction lists, or data privacy-related scenarios.
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks early in the development or testing process.
- Create and maintain QA documentation that meets regulatory and audit requirements.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability from business/legal requirements to tested functionalities - crucial for regulated environments.
- Conduct regular regression testing to maintain software quality across multiple versions.
- Act as a bridge between the technical and legal/compliance departments by translating legal requirements into actionable QA test plans.
Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of software quality principles with experience in software testing and development.
- In-depth knowledge of testing procedures and tools, as well as the ability to write secure, testable code.
- Strong knowledge in test automation. (Playwright, Cypress).
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal; German communication skills are a big plus.
- Knowledge of the payment industry and e-commerce payment platforms is advantageous.
- QA experience in financial services, fintech, or regulated industries.
- A completed law degree is a significant advantage to ensure that payment platforms and processes comply with legal and regulatory standards.
