The Museum of Art and History (MAHF) consists of three main areas: the Hôtel Ratzé, the former slaughterhouse, and the building for temporary exhibitions. It also has a garden that serves as a setting for monumental sculptures.

The Espace Jean Tinguely – Niki de Saint Phalle (Espace JTNSP) is a unique place dedicated to the creative work of two significant artistic personalities of the 20th century.

Together, the two institutions present works that testify to the cultural history of the Canton of Fribourg. With the permanent presentation of the collection and the temporary exhibitions, they offer insights into the past and present while also drawing attention to the work of Fribourg artists. In addition, numerous public events and activities take place throughout the year.

Contract type: 20% permanent contract and 20% fixed-term contract, renewed annually

Your tasks

• Recording new acquisitions of the MAHF in a database
• Creating documentation on works and artists
• Research related to temporary and permanent exhibitions
• Assisting with purchases and donations
• Supporting external researchers

Desired profile

• Completed studies in art history or history (Master's degree)
• Experience in the museum sector as well as in database management
• Practical working style and efficiency
• Editorial competence
• Proficiency in French or German with good knowledge of the other language
