The IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful definition and implementation of digital projects throughout the entire lifecycle – from planning to implementation and launch. The role includes project coordination, execution, stakeholder alignment, and accountability for results to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with priorities. Working closely with cross-functional teams as well as international and external partners, the role contributes to operational excellence and digital initiatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Project Execution
Leading and executing IT projects from initiation to implementation
Defining project scope, objectives, schedule, and deliverables
Managing project plans, milestones, dependencies, and priorities
Ensuring execution quality and achievement of agreed results
Coordinating implementation, testing, go-live, and adoption activities
Budget and resource management
Stakeholder Management
Coordinating clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders
Managing third-party vendors and delivery partners
Ensuring clear decision-making
Ensuring clear communication
Governance, Risks & Quality
Monitoring project risks, issues, and dependencies
Escalating and mitigating critical issues
Ensuring compliance with governance, security, and quality requirements
Transformation
Leading change, digital, and AI initiatives
Leading post-merger integration projects
Identifying opportunities to improve patient outcomes
Excellent skills in project planning, coordination, and execution
Proven experience in IT project management in complex international environments
Strong skills in stakeholder management and communication
Ability to manage competing priorities and delivery deadlines
Risk awareness and sound decision-making ability
Structured and solution-oriented working style
High level of responsibility and initiative
Collaborative and results-oriented mindset
Solid technical knowledge required (infrastructure, applications, digital)
English language skills required. German or French language skills required
Experience working with external suppliers and service providers desired
Knowledge of the Swiss healthcare system desired
Project management certification advantageous
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related field
Position in Fribourg or Zurich, with the possibility of partial home office. Travel may be required, approx. 20%
